The long
tradition of the humanities, which is based upon experience and interpretation,
provides the best instrument to deal with questions like this; if certain
overzealous scientists had a thorough grounding in psychology, philosophy, and
especially the philosophy of science (which would define both capacities and
limitations of science), they would never come up with such limited and thus
wrong conclusions, which can be quite disheartening for uninformed people who
are under the illusion that science has the last word upon their reality.
